Devotional

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.“ (Jeremiah 29:11-13 ESV)

If you ever went to camp in middle school, you probably memorized this verse. You might have even called this verse your “life verse” at some point. However, many of us have abandoned this verse post-secondary education. We think of it as a clichéd verse that isn’t extremely relevant to our lives, as we are now older and wiser. However, this verse is now more relevant than ever. In middle school, there were so many things in our lives we couldn’t control; but now as young adults, we have almost complete control over our lives. Now more than ever it is important to know that God is truly in charge of our lives and has specific plans for us. Meditate on this verse and what it means for you today.
